What does ♎ mean?
♎ is Libra, the scales, and the only zodiac sign that is an object rather than a living creature. The glyph shows a balance beam over a base; it is also sometimes read as the Sun setting over the horizon, because the Sun enters Libra at the September equinox, when day and night are roughly equal.
Libra covers about 23 September to 22 October. Astronomers use ♎ for the First Point of Libra, the September equinox point on the celestial sphere, in the same way ♈ marks the March equinox. If you mean justice or law rather than astrology, use the scales symbol ⚖ instead; it is the character for the scales of justice.
