What does ♑ mean?
♑ is Capricorn, traditionally a sea-goat: a goat’s front half with a fish’s tail. It is the sign for about 22 December to 19 January, beginning at the December solstice.
Capricorn has the most variable glyph of the twelve. Some fonts draw a V shape running into a loop and tail, others something closer to “ʋϱ”, so the character can look quite different in Windows, on an iPhone and in a printed astrology book. The meaning is the same in every case. As with Cancer, the sign lends its name to a latitude: the Tropic of Capricorn, about 23.4° south, where the Sun is overhead at the December solstice.
