What does ₦ mean?
₦ is the sign of the Nigerian naira (ISO code NGN), the currency of Nigeria since 1973. It is a capital N with two horizontal strokes. It goes before the number without a space: ₦5,000. One naira is divided into 100 kobo.
Most keyboards have no key for it, so Nigerians often write “N5,000” or “NGN 5,000”. Those are fine in plain text, but the real sign is clearer in prices, invoices and finance apps. On Windows, type 20A6 and press Alt + X in Word, or copy it from this page.
