What does ⛢ mean?
Uranus has two symbols, and which one you should use depends on your audience. ⛢, a circle with a dot and an arrow pointing up, is the symbol generally preferred in astronomy. ♅, a monogram of the letter H with a small orb, honours William Herschel, who discovered the planet in 1781; it is the symbol astrologers generally use.
The two live in different parts of Unicode. ♅ has been there since 1993, but ⛢ was only added in Unicode 6.0 in 2010, so very old systems may show it as a box. The planet was the first to be discovered with a telescope, which is why it has no symbol from antiquity like the classical planets do.
