What does ∨ mean?

∨ is logical OR: P ∨ Q is true when at least one of P and Q is true, including when both are. That “inclusive or” differs from everyday English, where “tea or coffee” often means one or the other; exclusive or has its own sign, ⊕ or ⊻. The shape comes from the Latin vel, “or”. In code the same operation is || or the keyword or.
