What does ♛ mean?
There is no crown among the ordinary text symbols of Unicode. The characters that look most like one are the chess pieces: ♛ black chess queen and ♚ black chess king have crown-shaped tops, and their outline twins ♕ and ♔ work on light and dark backgrounds alike. That is why names such as “♛ Queen Bee ♛” or “♚ Kingslayer ♚” use chess pieces.
The only character officially named CROWN is the emoji 👑 (U+1F451), which appears in gold on phones. Use 👑 in chats and captions, and ♛ or ♚ when you want the symbol to match your font, stay small, or work in game names that reject emoji. The heraldic fleur-de-lis ⚜ is another royal-looking option.
Common uses
- Gamer tags and usernames: ♛ Nova ♛
- Bios for “queen” and “king” themes: ♚ Boss mode
- Chess notation, where ♛ still means the queen
