What does ♔ mean?

♔ is the white chess king, and ♚ is the black one. In chess notation the king is written K, so Ke2 means the king moves to e2; figurine notation replaces the letter with the symbol, as in ♔e2. The white pieces are drawn in outline and the black pieces filled, so on a dark background the “white” symbols can look like the black side.
